Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is essential for any website but it's a common misconception that you have to build sites to work with Google and other search engines.   Instead you build them for the visitors/audience - the search engines will take note of efforts to please real human beings and reward your site accordingly!

SEO used to be about cheating your way to the top of Google but that's no longer the case.  The best strategy is to ensure the simplest of things are right first such as:

  1. Standards compliant HTML code - compatibility problems mean your site won't look or read the way it should!
  2. Avoid duplication - we all suffer from information overload ... don't make the problem worse!
  3. Update your website frequently - who wants to read old content when there is fresh stuff out there?
  4. Structure your content well - Use headings, subheadings, labels and bullets for formatting...just like you would do everywhere else!
  5. Keep it interesting! - Break up blocks of text with images

Most of these things you can do yourself but sometimes its nice to have some guidance from someone with an eye for these things.   As well as the most obvious techniques, there are some behind-scenes things that ultimately do influence your ranking in Google and other search engines which is where Silver Innovation can help.

We are happy to give you a critique of your existing website with the view to carrying out some SEO work on it to ensure it's performance isn't being hampered by poor coding, content or structure!
