What is hosting & why do I need it?

Hosting is the service which allows your website and/or email to be accessible on the internet. For your website to be seen by other people you need a domain name pointing to a form of hosting. The same goes for email.   It’s essentially a piece of space on the web which is available 24/7.

We always provide both website and email hosting, but if you have your own email already, you can still use that - we then just handle the web bit.

This is a custom system we have developed for our hosting clients which allows us to proactively check and monitor your website to ensure optimum performance, and immediately alert us to any unusual activity for investigation. Using SENTRY, we can deliver an unrivaled level of support and administer lightning fast maintenance in response to any environmental variation.

What does hosting cost?

  • From just £12.50 per month (payable 1 year in advance).   Some really large and busy websites and applications may cost a bit more - please contact us if you think your website or application has special requirements.
  • We don’t limit or charge for disk space, bandwidth, additional mailboxes and such like unlike other providers
  • If we are providing your hosting, domain, email or other similar services, we will keep it running and look after it for you until you tell us otherwise.  All services will be auto-renewed by us each year to ensure hassle-free continuity.  Should you wish to discontinue any service, please contact us a minimum of 30 days prior to your renewal.  Some services such as domains/SSL certificates/hosting are purchased on your behalf and have a 1 year license, as such, these are charged for in advance and cannot be partially refunded should these be cancelled.

  • Can I use my own hosting instead?
    Honestly, we advise that you don’t. Providers like 1&1 Internet, GoDaddy are difficult and confusing to work with. They are not UK-based and their support can be painful
    Some of our applications are developed specifically to suit our own environment and infrastructure, thus we may insist on our hosting being utilised, otherwise further development may be required to tailor to a 3rd party environment.


We deliver a 99.9% uptime guarantee – excluding planned or emergency maintenance or conditions beyond our reasonable control. In the event of us failing to deliver this guarantee within any given month, a refund of that month will be given. It is reassuring to note that we have never needed to do this.

Our hosting is monitored 24/7 and all faults are logged automatically and investigated. Usually any blips are resolved within seconds or minutes but we are always on hand should want to give us a call.
